Logan & Abby were married on a cold windy February day, in the beautiful city of St. Augustine Florida. Abby and her bridesmaids got ready for her special day at a really cute Airbnb home just a few short blocks away from Abby’s wedding venue at the St. Francis Barracks.
We stopped for some bride and bridesmaids photo on our walk to the venue. There’s so many beautiful photo spots along the streets of old St. Augustine, Florida. Once the bride and bridesmaids tucked away in the venue, we then met up with the guys for their pre-ceremony photos. They’re a fun group of groomsmen, so we were able to capture some great groomsmen photos showcasing their personalities!
Logan & Abby put so many personal touches into their wedding day, which made it so special. From her custom designed wedding gown dress, to the wedding cake made by her parents, to all the amazing wedding ceremony and wedding reception signs and decor, and silk bridal bouquet flowers… it was SUCH a beautiful wedding.
Keep reading below to hear Abby’s story about how they met, and his proposal! Swoon!!!
How we met:
“An early Monday morning flight home, forgetting to check in for our flights, and the last two aisle seats on the plane (though by the bathroom isn’t the most romantic setting). A trip home from Nashville early on a Monday morning after a busy weekend for both of us (him for his brother’s bachelor party, and me to visit my brother who lived in Nashville at the time) turned into a 2+ hour conversation that continued from the boarding line, to those fateful aisle seats by the bathroom, through baggage claim and even all the way to the economy parking lot. He gave me his business card because he didn’t want to be “too forward” and figured he’d never see me again, but little did we know, “airplane guy” and “airplane girl” would end up falling in love.”
The Proposal:
“Since we met on a Southwest flight, it was all too appropriate that the proposal happened at the Southwest check in counter at the Jax airport. The ticketing area was basically empty on that Friday night and was absolutely perfect – even if I said “duh!” instead of something sweet when he popped the question. He rushed home from work to announce that a “long lost bag” was located by Southwest and he was so excited that we just had to go pick it up that night – of course I was suspicious, but both of my parents were in on the surprise, and managed to at least mildly convince me that it might be a legit reason and not the lead up to a proposal. It was the sweetest moment, and we followed up the airport with phone calls to our families and then a re-enactment of our first date adventure around the city.”
