I recommend all clients to arrive at least 20 minutes early to account for traffic, parking, etc.. Because mini sessions are scheduled back to back, your session time and number of images will be reduced. If you are unable to make your session entirely, your payment will be forfeited as there is a no refund policy.
What happens if i'm running late or can't make it?
All sessions include a weather back up date. When booking, please be sure that you have availability on both the session date and the weather back up date, as sessions are non-refundable.
what happens if it rains?
You will receive your online gallery of digital images within 2 weeks of your session date. You'll be able to download all of your high-resolution professionally edited image files directly from your gallery, and you'll also have the option to order additional prints and products directly from your gallery. You can share your online gallery with loved ones so they can download and print the images they want, as well :) Your online portrait gallery will remain accessible for one year.
When will i receive my images?
Select and lay out your outfits, as well as any outfits for others participating in your mini portrait session. Ensure they are clean, wrinkle-free, and coordinate well with the location and each other.
Stick with soft earthy tones, as dark/bold colors tend to photograph heavy. Also avoid outfits with words and graphics, as those tend to take away from your beautiful faces!
If one person wears a pattern, everyone else should stick with a solid color from the patterned outfit to pull everything together. Too many patterns have a tendency to look too busy in photographs.
What should we wear?
On the week leading up to your session, make sure your nails are well-groomed, and avoid any harsh skin treatments or artificial tanning. Tanning products tend to photograph orange on camera, and contrasts even more against the natural skin tones of your loved ones.
Be sure everyone get's plenty of rest the night before your session. On the day of your mini portrait session, it's important to stay hydrated and have light snacks before the session to keep your energy up, and avoid heavy meals that might leave you feeling sluggish.
If you have children, it's a good idea to let them know how important these photos are to you, and I've found that when you let them know they'll be rewarded for good behavior (such as going out for ice cream after, or getting to pick out a new toy, etc.), they are more eager to participate in the session - that even applies to teens too!
how should i prepare my family for our session?
Because mini sessions are a more condensed version of a full portrait session, I'll work through a series of poses to ensure we capture the important stuff - smiling at the camera and candid. For example, for a family of 4 or 5 you can expect variations of the following:
- Full Family Together
- Mom and Dad
- Mom with Kids
- Dad with Kids
- Kids Together
- Individual Kids
What type of photos can i expect to receive?
Session time allows for up to 5 guests. If you expect to include more guests, I recommend booking two consecutive time slots. You're also welcome to include your fur babies (as long as the location allows)!
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE INCLUDED IN MY SESSION?
Mini sessions include 20 minutes of session time, 20+ high-resolution edited images in an online gallery, and a personal print release.
What's included in my mini session?
The outdoor mini session does not include a theme or props. This allows for timeless images that can be displayed year-round!
What kind of theme or props will be at the session?
A mini photo session is a shorter and more focused version of a regular photography session. It takes place on specific days and times, and lasts for a shorter duration. Because mini sessions are grouped into multiple sessions during one day, it allows the photographer to offer discounted pricing to clients.
