I was so excited when my St. Augustine Florida groom and bride, Rodney and Lauren, chose Washington Oaks Gardens in Crescent Beach, Florida for the engagement session. One of the great things about photos sessions in this area is that we get so much variety. I always start in the gardens of Washington Oaks Gardens, and then drive a couple minutes up the road to the beach access at River to the Sea Preserve just south of Marineland Dolphin Adventure in St. Augustine Florida.

I include an engagement session in my wedding collections, because it’s such a fun way for my wedding couple and I to get to know each other before their wedding day!

Lauren warned me that Rodney does NOT like having his photo taken, and doesn’t like dressing up either. I assured her that MOST of my grooms feel the same way lol, but usually leave happy and relieved that it was more fun and not as intimidating as they thought their engagement portrait session would be.

They showed up, and looked great for their session! I love flowing dresses on my brides during engagement photos, because they’re so flattering and look so pretty when picked up by the wind. Rodney looked great in his button down shirt, and I think we did a pretty good job getting some nice genuine smiles out of him!
