Gabrielle & Lauren got ready, hidden away in separate rooms, for their special day at the Salisbury Marriott in Jacksonville, Florida.
While I captured all of their wedding details, such as her jewelry, shoes, bouquet, wedding dress, and his shoes, jewelry, and tie, my second shooter captured their fun getting ready photos. Once all the detail photos are complete, one of my favorite parts of wedding days is capturing the mother of the bride helping her daughter into her wedding gown. It’s always such a sweet moment, and getting these shots in front of a large window with lots of glowing natural light just makes the images even more beautiful.
Gabrielle & Lauren didn’t want to do a “first look”, and they instead opted for a moment to hold hands around a corner, with each other out of sight. They were so giggly and happy, it was such a sweet moment to capture. It was a rainy wedding day, so my second shooter and I alternated taking photos around the inside of the gorgeous hotel with the bride & groom, so that they wouldn’t see each other.
We then made our way to the Iglesia Ni Cristo church in the Julington Creek area of Jacksonville, Florida. This wedding chapel was so intimate and beautiful. The white walls of the chapel, and the beautiful window lighting throughout helped to create such beautiful ceremony images. The guests only included their wedding party, immediate family, and their sponsors. All of the guests wore masks and face shields, which seems to now be a common sighting at weddings these days.
Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Fleming Island was our next stop for their portraits and reception. It was pouring, so we started out with bride and groom portraits under an overhang with the golf course in the distance. We had to take advantage of the beautiful view, so despite the rain, we were going to make it work! Then all of a sudden the sky cleared, and we were able to head outside to capture the most beautiful wedding portraits of the newlyweds. After husband and wife portraits, the couple celebrated with their loved ones – there were first dances, speeches, cake cutting, photo booth, an amazing dinner, and even videos and zooms from guests that couldn’t attend due to the pandemic. Oh, and we can’t forget their flower petal toss grand exit! It was pouring by this time, so we found a small covered spot to make it happen 🙂
While their Florida February wedding day was intimate, it was a wedding day complete with happy tears, lots of laughs, so much joy, and everything you could want in a dream wedding!
