Amelia Island’s spectacular natural surroundings and fascinating history make it a lovely and well-liked hotspot for weddings. Amelia Island, which is located off the East Coast of Florida, offers a variety of breathtaking backdrops for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The island is home to miles of gorgeous beaches, attractive parks, and quaint historic districts.
In addition to its stunning natural surroundings, Amelia Island is home to a number of highly rated hotels, resorts, and event locations that specialize in hosting weddings. These locations provide a variety of accommodations, amenities, and services to make sure that your big day is everything you’ve ever wanted.
Amelia Island holds a special place in the hearts of Meghan and Rick. Even though they live a plane ride away, Amelia Island is a place they consider home.
On the morning of her wedding, Meghan enjoyed a beautiful and private family home to get ready with her ladies. Meghan undoubtedly felt so much love on her special day because she was surrounded by her loved ones and the natural beauty of Amelia Island. Her decision to have her bridesmaids wear various floral dresses was such a special and beautiful touch!
For a bride and her bridesmaids, getting ready is a such a special time. It’s a time to unwind, indulge, and celebrate the beginning of such a memorable day. Meghan and her bridesmaids had such a great time getting ready together and made some priceless memories.
We then made our way to their ceremony venue at the Amelia Plantation Chapel. The Amelia Plantation Chapel is a stunning and popular location for weddings. The chapel is located on the property of the Amelia Island Plantation, a posh resort and residential neighborhood that provides a range of amenities and services for wedding parties. The chapel itself is a lovely structure with a 200-person capacity and offers a variety of amenities, such as a grand piano, a cutting-edge sound system, and a dressing area. The chapel also features a lovely outside garden area.
Here we captured Rick’s, his groomsmen, and immediate family portraits along the Little Sandy Golf Course, which you can easily walk to next to the chapel.
Following portraits, their loved ones gathered for their ceremony in the beautiful chapel. For many couples, the wedding ceremony is the most important and sentimental portion of the day. In front of loved ones, it’s a time to exchange vows and make a promise to one another. Meghan and Rick’s wedding ceremony was marked by so much love and joy.
After their ceremony, Rick gifted his groomsmen Air Jordans! Gifts for the wedding party are a common tradition, and they are often given as a way to thank the members of the wedding party for their support and participation in the wedding. It’s a nice way to show appreciation and to let them know that they are valued. I don’t think you could get a much better gift than Jordans! I thought this was so awesome!
Then – my favorite part – we captured Meghan and Rick’s portraits as husband and wife! We made our way back over by the golf course. The light at this location was just so devine. Meghan and Rick are so sweet together, and while we had to keep their portraits short so they could join cocktail hour with their guests, we were able to capture so many beautiful moments between these two!
We then made our way to the Ocean Club at Amelia Island Plantation for cocktail hour and reception. They went with a garden party theme, which featured a beautiful mix of florals and gold accents. All guests also dressed according to the garden party theme! I’m obsessed with all the pastels and florals!
I love that they had a live band for their reception! Everyone had so much fun dancing and celebrating.
It was a day full of beauty, joy, and so much fun! Here are just a few of my favorites from Meghan and Rick’s Amelia Island, Florida wedding.
