Summer engagement sessions in Florida can always be a little tricky considering the weather. If you’re not from Florida, just know it has a tendency to rain almost every afternoon. Or if not, the weather radar will convince you it’s going to storm, and then it’ll end up being the most beautiful day! lol
Mia and Bo decided to have their engagement session at the beautiful Washington Oaks Gardens State Park in Palm Coast, Florida, which is about an hour south of Jacksonville, Florida. We watched the weather, and considering how questionable it was, I went ahead and let them make the call. They decided to chance it, so we made our way out there. Sure enough it was GORGEOUS when we arrived. And sure enough, a big storm came through right when we were supposed to head down to the beach for the second portion of their engagement session.
We decided it would be best to reschedule the beach portion, and opted for a beach closer to where Mia and Bo live. A couple days after the first part of their engagement photo session, we met at one of my most favorite secluded beaches in Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in Atlantic Beach, Florida. I love the big dunes along the beach, and the beautiful wooden walkway here. It helps to create lots of beautiful variety in their photos! It’s also not as crowded on this end of the beach, which makes it a lot easier for me to edit people out in the background – win win!
Here are some of my favorites from Mia and Bo’s Northeast Florida engagement session.
Congratulations, Mia and Bo! Excited to capture your Jacksonville, Florida wedding next Fall!
