The Ponte Vedra Lodge and Club was the perfect wedding venue for Julie and Matthew’s October wedding day. October is such a great time of year to tie the knot in Florida on a beach; the weather is just perfect!

Julie and Matthew had a super special way of incorporating their love of Halloween into their tropical theme wedding decor. During the ceremony, the skeleton guest was an unexpected and super fun touch for guests to enjoy! Their reception also included details such as a skeleton cake topper, skulls, pumpkins, and more, elegantly mixed in with their beautiful decor!

By not doing a first look, Julie and Matthew were able to have the traditional experience of seeing each other for the first time as bride and groom during the ceremony. This added to the anticipation and excitement of the day! We used careful coordination to make sure that they did not see each other prior to the ceremony, while we captured bridal party and grooms party portraits, in addition to immediate family portraits. By capturing these portraits pre-ceremony, it allowed more time after the ceremony for bride and groom portraits and for the couple to enjoy cocktail hour.

Julie and Matthew’s beach wedding ceremony was not only special, but they made it so fun! The beach balls being tossed after the couple exchanged their vows added a playful and celebratory touch to the ceremony. The couple’s decision to release the rows of guests after the ceremony allowed them to personally greet and hug each of their guests as they made their way to cocktail hour. This personal touch made their guests feel welcomed and appreciated, and it added to the intimacy and joy of the day.

We were able to capture all of the important moments of Julie and Matthew’s wedding day while also respecting the couple’s desire to spend time with their guests. By keeping the full family, wedding party portraits, and the bride and groom portraits short and sweet, the couple was able to get the photos they wanted without sacrificing too much time with their guests. This is a common challenge for couples on their wedding day, and it is important to strike a balance between getting the photos they want and enjoying the celebration with their loved ones. And while I love posing and capturing a lot of pretty photos, it brings me even more joy when I see my couples enjoying their day spending it with the people that mean the most to them!

Julie and Matthew’s cocktail hour and reception were full of fun and celebration. The beachfront fountain during cocktail hour and the beachfront terrace during the reception at The Ponte Vedra Lodge and Club provided a beautiful setting for their end of night festivities. The couple’s choreographed first dance and the photo booth added to the entertainment and enjoyment of the reception. The delicious food and lots of dancing made for a memorable and super fun evening for Julie and Matthew, and their guests!
